Shacking Up: The Smart Girl’s Guide to Living in Sin Without Getting Burned

I teamed up with my sister Wynne, a super-smart attorney, to write this frank, funny move-in manual, which was published by Broadway books in 2003. It was featured in newspapers such as USA Today, Boston Herald, NY Daily News, Sacramento Bee, Hartford Courant, and Denver Post as well as magazines including Shape, Gotham and In Touch Weekly.

Deeming it “humorously irreverent and practical,” Publisher’s Weekly declared Shacking Up “useful for anyone…ready for the fantasy to end, and reality to begin.” It also got very positive reviews from Library Journal and was deemed “a book that every mother, sister and daughter age 18 and up should read” by the Cape Cod Times.

In addition to Shacking Up, I have collaborated on four other books with internationally known fitness experts:

Fit and Sexy for Life: The Hormone-free Plan for Staying Slim, Strong and Fabulous in Your Forties, Fifties and Beyond

Published by Broadway Books in 2007, this book provides a hormone-free way to fire up the old metabolism, boost energy, and stave off hot flashes. With daily cardio and strength workouts plus a simple eating plan and healthy recipes, her program is designed to melt pounds, build muscle, and lower the risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, breast cancer, and other over-40 health woes.

Kathy Kaehler’s Celebrity Workouts: How to Get a Hollywood Body in Just 30 Minutes a Day

In this 2005 book from Broadway Books, Kaehler offers an “insider peek” into the body-sculpting routines, lifestyles and personalities of A-list clients including Julia Roberts, Michelle Pfieffer, Claudia Schiffer and Jennifer Aniston. It includes seven super-effective workouts plus delicious recipes from celebrity chefs like Wolfgang Puck and Jamie Oliver.

Fit and Fabulous After 40: A 5-Part Program for Turning Back the Clock

Denise Austin may be known for her perkiness, but this 2001 book, which I helped write, proves that she knows her stuff. In it, she explains how to “turn back the clock” with exercise (aerobic, stretching, balance, and strength training), diet, health, beauty, and a positive outlook. “A fantastic book full of great advice,” writes one reviewer. “Denise’s positive attitude is inspirational and contagious.”

Lose Those Last 10 Pounds: A 28-Day Foolproof Plan for a Healthy Body

This hardcover from Broadway Books hit’s #1 spot soon after its 2000 release and went on to become a bestseller. And it’s no wonder: The ever-popular Denise Austin understands what her fans want. Her 4-week program includes daily workouts, meal plans and recipes, plus advice for keeping off the weight.  She also offers easy, painless ways to sneak in exercise, otherwise known as “Fidgetcize.”
